Chili Pepper
A Type 1 Postscript font by Meg Hamel
This font is based on one called "Flash," but I renamed it because
Flash is also the name of a typeface similar to Dom Casual. Chili
Pepper is slanted to the right and has bold slashes of black and
white, creating a textured, toothy look.
The font consists of 26 upper case letters. The lower case letters
are the same as the upper case, but reduced by 25%. This makes it
easy to use different sized letters without changing point size.
All other characters have been replaced with a period.
This font was created using Publisher's Typefoundry. I had a hard
time trying to get the spacing & kerning to look right, so I
recommend that you use this font with software that gives you
control over the kerning. However, because this is such an unusual
font, you probably won't want to use it for much text. Try using
it for large, inset dropcaps, or maybe as part of a logo. The
numerals could be very effective for numbered text.
This is my first publicly released font, and I have no idea where
the bugs may be (other than the spacing mentioned above). It looks
fine using Adobe Type Manager.
1) If it doesn't work for you or if a character looks funny,
please let me know. Maybe we can fix it and get a new release out.
This might also keep me from repeating a mistake on my next
typeface.
2) If you change it, please let me know so I can see your
improvements, etc. This will also allow me to get a better copy
distributed to everyone.
3) Don't sell this font, or include it in any package that is
sold. I don't charge for it, so why should anyone else?!
****************************************************************
Chili Pepper is "tradeware" -- I'll give you this font in exchange
for:
1) Information about how it works/doesn't work with different
software.
2) A Type 1 font of your OWN creation.
3) A sample of whatever project you created using Chili Pepper
(brochure, newsletter, t-shirt, solid gold anything).
4) $5.
